Léonard Grondin : A passionate idealist!
The chronicle of the "Grand Bazar de Granby, La Source du sport", begins with the dream of its founder, Mr. Léonard Grondin, and his determination. An energetic worker he had a passion: sports. He conveyed these traits to all his family.
The business originated in the Granby arena, on Court street. The boutique, Grondin Sports et Camping, offered hockey equipment in winter and camping gears in summer. In 1976, assisted by his spouse Denise, Mr. Grondin established a gift shop at 1247 Principale street. Two years later, in 1978, the couple inaugurated a sports equipment department.
At that time, Pierre and Mario joined their parents to pursue the great adventure. Their youth and their passion will bring a fresh cachet to the business. In 1985, the Grand Bazar settles permanently at its actual location. The surface of the store expands significantly. All at once, the business is six times bigger!
Bigger also means more merchandise to sell! We're talking about great strides, a true expansion! The following year, sports goods take over the whole place. The door is then opened to men and women sports apparel, followed by an engraving shop for a full range of promotional items.
With the new millennium, extensive works have prepared the road for continuation, that of the founder's willpower. The will to progress, to offer more, to innovate, to excel ... all focused on offering the best to the customers! The customers, the meaning of the Grand Bazar, LA SOURCE DU SPORT! This is why this business is one of the best within its category. It has won numerous awards, testifying of its vitality, its will to excel. Au Grand Bazar, La Source du Sport keeps on collecting honours and high distinctions.
Nowadays, many members of the family work within the company. Well known in Granby and throughout the area, this business is proud to provide people with a unique concept under the banner of LA SOURCE DU SPORT.
